Wait until mid December to prepare your costume for Rio's Carnival most exuberant event.Theme for the 2013 Magic Ball at the Copacabana Palace is yet to be announced. 2012 theme was "Oncinhas", which translates to little leopards.

The hotel magnificent saloons will decorated according to the special theme, signed by the artist Zeka Marquez.

The magic ball is THE most glamorous party in Rio. And probably the most coveted in the country by the so-called high society. This is where the rich and famous can be seen. There is none more grand than the Magic Ball. Expect to be with the elite from throughout the world.

A live band plays in the Golden Room. A traditional carnival buffet is served and the party lasts until the wee hours.

Tables will be for 10 and 12 people, with a few for 6 in the Golden Room. All tables will be filled to capacity,
therefore sharing with other guests, will be norm. Please note that standing tickets do not entitle the holder to be seated at a table, but there are loungy areas and plenty of non-assigned tables at the veranda and around the buffet for those who want to mingle around at the ball.

Tip from a Carioca who has attended the Magic Ball, twice: Get a standing ticket, mingle around, talk to people. It will give the opportunity to meet different and interesting party goers: cariocas and foreigners. The atmosphere in the ball is as magic as its name. Unless you are with a big group, get a standing ticket.

TIP
1,500 top people, suitably attired, will dance, dine and mingle. The majority of ball goers are Brazilians, and others should reserve very quickly to be among their number.

Dress requirements:
Men - black tie or luxury costume
Women - Gala dress or luxury costume

Tickets
The tables are for 06 (only in Golden Room), 10 and 12 people - therefore sharing with another guest will be the norm. Standing ticket does not entitle the holder to a table reservation. Tickets include unlimited first-class open bar as well as a superb dinner buffet.
