The Carnival Champion's Parade Is Formed By The 6 Best Samba Schools Of The Special Group Parade.

After the results are declared on Ash Wednesday, the following Saturday 16th February 2013 the six top teams are back at the Sambadrome to bid farewell to the crowd and reaffirm their position at the top. The performances and atmosphere are no less electrifying than Carnival Sunday or Monday, a day when most winning team members are overcome with pride and emotion, finally reaping the fruits of their labor.

The grandstands are packed with spectators while celebrities join in the act in support of their winning team. The program begins at 9 pm with the 5th runner up opening the show which culminates with the ultimate performance by the Grand Champion in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Tickets are far cheaper for the Champions' Parade although the show does not lack anything when compared with Carnival Sunday and Monday. The event is less crowded with a majority of cariocas out in support of their favorite samba school. This is a great event to attend if you aren't lucky enough to get tickets for Carnival Sunday and Monday.

Besides, this is the best time to mingle with the locals and realize how passionate they are about the carnival if you haven't experienced Carnival Sunday and Monday. Several other parades and street parties are held throughout Rio, which you are always welcome to join. However, tickets for the Sambadrome ought to be booked in advance. The actual tickets are only issued one week before the Carnival in order to avoid any misappropriation and black marketeering of tickets.
