Arpoador Beach

Arpoador Beach Is the perfect spot to Watch the Sunset, is Spectacular

Nestled between Ipanema and Copacabana, the Arpoador beach is very different from the other two. Professional surfers frequent this beach for the interesting waves that are created in this area. Sunsets are another spectacular sight that makes Arpoador beach different from the other beaches in Rio and offers the perfect getaway from the noise and crowd of the Carnival.

Arpoador Beach for a Quiet Getaway

There's fun for everyone at Arpoador

A rock formation acts as a natural border between Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. Small trails on the beach are ideal for morning and evening walks and offer splendid views of the coastline. Fishermen reeling in their catch, children playing around, couples on a romantic walk and surfers vying for the best waves are common sights at the Arpoador beach. Another feature is Praia do Diabo or the Devil's Beach, a small beach to the left of the rocks at Arpoador, offering an excellent view of the Sugarloaf Mountains, Copacabana Fort and Corcovado.

Surfing at Arpoador

Surfers line the beach from morning to dusk and can be viewed from the rocks. Some of the professionals offer inexpensive lessons on the beach and surfboards are also available for rent. If you are in your walking shoes then you can attempt to climb the rocks for a spectacular view of the sun, sand and ocean. Arpoador beach is also lined with restaurants and hotels where you can spend relaxing days when you are in Rio.
